UVVE CODE OF ETHICS, CONDUCT, COMPLIANCE, ANTI-CORRUPTION AND COMPLIANCE


1. INTRODUCTION


UVVE - Universidade Livre de Ciências Humanas de São Paulo is an institution that values academic excellence and places ethics and compliance at the center of its mission. This Code establishes the principles and guidelines that should guide the conduct of all members of the academic community, including professors, students, collaborators, researchers and partners. It seeks to ensure an environment of respect, inclusion and responsibility, aligned with the best practices of institutional governance and ethics.


2. FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES


UVVE is committed to following fundamental principles that guide its academic and administrative activities:

3. ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT


All UVVE members must adopt exemplary conduct, reflecting the institution's values:


  • Academic honesty: Plagiarism, data falsification, undue collaboration in assessments or any form of academic fraud are not permitted.
  • Impartiality and Equity: Academic assessments must be fair, ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
  • Proper use of resources: University property and facilities must be used exclusively for institutional purposes.
  • Secrecy and confidentiality: Personal and academic data must be protected and used only for appropriate purposes.
  • Professional Conduct: Teachers and staff must maintain ethical and professional behavior, promoting a respectful environment free from discrimination.


4. ANTI-CORRUPTION POLICY


UVVE adopts a zero tolerance stance against corruption, bribery and fraud:

  • Prohibition of bribery: No member may offer, promise, give or receive undue advantages, whether in the public or private sector.
  • Conflict of interest: Everyone should avoid situations that could compromise the impartiality of the institution. Should a potential conflict arise, it should be immediately reported to the dean.
  • Gifts and Benefits: The acceptance of gifts, favors or any other type of advantage is subject to strict rules to avoid undue influence.
  • Reporting Mechanisms: Secure and anonymous channels will be established for reporting irregularities, with guaranteed protection against retaliation.
  • Sanctions and Disciplinary Measures: Violations of this Code will be subject to disciplinary action, which may result in dismissal, expulsion or legal sanctions.


5. COMPLIANCE AND GOVERNANCE


To ensure the effective application of this Code, UVVE implements compliance and governance mechanisms:


  • Compliance and Auditing: Internal procedures will ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Ongoing Training: All university staff will receive periodic training on ethics, compliance and best practices.

  • Compliance Program: Implementation of a robust compliance program that encompasses auditing, continuous monitoring and effective mechanisms to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory policies.


6. FINAL PROVISIONS


This Code applies to all UVVE members and must be strictly followed. Any questions or concerns about your application should be directed to the bodies responsible for ethics and compliance at the university. Failure to comply with the guidelines set forth herein will result in appropriate disciplinary action.
